“ We hadn't been back to Duck Inn since Restaurant Week returned in 2021, so this was our first time experiencing the full menu. Naturally, we had to try the rotisserie duck! We reserved the duck ahead of time, as recommended, and since it takes a while to prepare, our waitress suggested a couple of starters to tide us over. We visited on a Thursday, which happened to be Fried Chicken night, so we started with the Cajun crab dip off the special menu - absolutely delicious! The crab was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts, which had a tasty topping/sauce but were missing a touch of salt or acidity. After squeezing some lemon from the crab dip, they were much better. Now, let's talk about the duck: it's worth every bit of the hype. Perfectly cooked with incredibly crisp and flavorful skin, paired beautifully with the salad, potatoes, and jus accompaniments. Truly outstanding. For drinks, the Push Comes to Shove was good - warm and reminiscent of a hot toddy - but the Ganja & Guess was the real standout. It was incredibly flavorful; I only wish there had been more of it! Finally, don't skip dessert. Get the cardamom quince cake AND the purple sweet potato tart. Both were some of the most unique and delicious desserts I've ever had. The dining room was a bit loud, but with their recent James Beard award, it's no surprise they're busier than ever. Duck Inn is absolutely worth a visit--you won't regret it! ”

“ Heard good things from coworkers & decided on a whim to stop in The Duck Inn. We didn't have reservations but were seated right away. I enjoyed the duck and other whimsical decor. At the time, it was dimly lit, with very romantic and retro music in the background. The waiter explained the specials to us (Meatloaf Monday) etc. We decided to try a few things on their menu to share, the Duck inn dog, fries, and wings were superb. The items came out as they were prepared yet very prompt. All in all the service and food was great. There was street parking, it also appears to be family friendly. ”

“ As a pescatarian, I'm not the target demographic for Duck Inn, but I still think it's fantastic. Duck Inn was one of the first dinners we did with friends when things started opening back up. It was a great choice as we all livedy the food and thought the service was on point. Husband and I took way too long to return, returning most recently for brunch and a celebration with friends. It felt like the group ordered almost everything off the brunch menu and I didn't hear a single negative word about anything on the table. I sampled the cheese curds (not done in duck fat) and the biscuit. The wings were a huge hit at the table too. For our mains, husband got the Duck Sope with a side of duck bacon while I got the shrimp & grits minus the cracklings. I was torn between this and the french toast. My shrimp and grits was great, I ate every bite. The grits were creamy and smooth, as they should be, and the shrimp juicy and tender. The person next to me got the french toast and raved about it. Duck Inn consistently delivers and while the menu is pretty meat forward, has something for many palettes. ”

“ We were visiting from out of town for a few days, and this was one of the places our friends booked for us - and it was definitely a treat! The restaurant has a cozy, classy atmosphere that we appreciated as soon as we walked in (and it was suitably decorated for Halloween!). Though we had a reservation, we still had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our table, so we ended up ordering a round of drinks at the bar. We had the Tusk & Temper, the Batanga, and the Close to Godliness. We thoroughly enjoyed all of them except for the Batanga, which was a bit underwhelming. When a table opened up, we were seated outside right by the back door, so there was unfortunately a pretty constant flow of waiters and patrons walking past us throughout our meal. Regardless, most of the outdoor seating area is cute and nicely decorated. And all the inside seating looked very cozy. For food, we ordered: the Duck Inn dog, fried cheese curds, the duck wings, the gnocchi, the pork chop, and the farmers salad. All the food was quite tasty - my favorite were the duck wings, which were tender and very flavorful. A definite recommend! I also loved the Duck Inn dog and the cheese curds. The pork chop and gnocchi were a bit chewy, but still very tasty. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and it was the perfect amount of food for four! Service was a bit slow throughout the night, which may have been due to where we were seated. However, we had a lovely meal here, and I'd definitely come back again! ”

“ Great spot! The food and the drinks are very good. The burrata was amazing! We had the gnocchi (it's ok), the short rib (amazing), fried chicken thighs (amazing) and the squash blossoms (alright). The service is pretty good, attentive, on point and not at all overly friendly. Good team overall., The patio is great but a long wait for what so we sat inside. I did like the slightly dimmed room. It's an old house and kinda cute. ”

“ Was in Chicago for a few days and Duck Inn was my first stop! It was my second time dining here and it was just as good as I remember. I made a dinner reservation and requested a rotisserie duck ahead of time. We were seated quickly and service was fantastic overall. The ambiance is relaxed yet classy. The dishes we ordered included: - duck wings - brussel sprouts - rotisserie duck - fried chicken dinner (including fried chicken plate, crab dip, and ice cream sundae) Everything was absolutely delicious! There were only three of us but we barely had any leftovers because the food was too good. I'm obsessed with the duck wings and rotisserie duck. The flavors are perfect and it's tender and juicy. An essential restaurant to experience! ”
